BTW, do you think it's possible to backup the private key securely on
the SF shell server?

No. Well...maybe if you put it on an encrypted disk image, but then you have a password to remember.

Of course bumping the version number in BD could never be done in an
Xcode target, because bumping using agvtool will change the project
file.

So I'm not yet sure whether it should go into an xcode target or a
separate script.

True. Part of the reason I use a separate script is for compatibility with agvtool, even though I'm not using agvtool now. The main reason for building in Xcode is to see errors and warnings, and those are generally gone by release time.

I'm thinking of embedding Sparkle in both as soon as
it reaches its 1.5 release target, which should be soon.

That sounds good to me. I'm using 1.5b6 with a few additional
patches I sent to Andy, and it seems to work fine.

The current source has a few more fixes, such as working around a long-
standing NSURLConnection thread-safety bug. The remaining bugs
shouldn't be relevant for apps like BD and Skim.

I noticed there are a few more fixes, but it's too much hassle to install yet another version control system and track yet another source tree.
