I also tried that with no success, for the frameview and the webview itself, but didn't see a crash. Did you happen to use - [NSBitmapImageRep CGImage]?
I also tried drawing to an NSImage, and that also failed. I tried calling drawRect: directly, with various combinations of setNeedsDisplay:YES. Disabling the scrollers on the main frame in FVPreviewer from code worked for the on-screen view, so I'm quite puzzled.
