We've had this request before. There are several problems. One is that we know next to nothing about XMP data. Another is that we don't change the PDF. It would require us to completely do the save ourselves, which is really a lot of work which we won't be going into. Moreover AFAIK there are no good libraries we could use to add the metadata easily to a PDF. Jabref uses some Java libraries, but they are programmed in Java. Those libraries are no option for us (also for other reasons, I think they loose some other data). Anyway, the answer is, unfortunately, no.
