Reinstalling the plugin shouldn't do anything, but won't hurt.  Definitely get 
rid of that failed download!

Yes, that's very likely.  We used to have a similar problem with the recent 
downloads button in the editor window, where resolving aliases would cause disk 
images to mount.  Very annoying, but hard to reproduce.
