There's a pre-alpha build of BibDesk with the new file/alias support at http://homepage.mac.com/amaxwell/.Public/BibDesk-aliases-alpha.dmg
This is a snapshot of current development work. I'm honestly unsure what works and what doesn't, but it is guaranteed to be buggy. *** Don't use this on your bib file without a backup *** I disabled saving, but save-as will still work. Something to try: save the .bib file under a new name, close it, then move your papers folder elsewhere using Finder. When you reopen the new file, the Local-Urls will be invalid, but the files themselves should still be visible in BD. You should also be able to move the .bib file and papers folder to another system and open it up, as long as the relative path from the .bib to the papers folder is the same. I haven't tried that personally. Please don't nitpick the UI right now, but crashes and exceptions are of interest. If you think a feature is missing, check the context menu (control-click) or main menu, since lots of things have changed. -- adam ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
