I've been playing around with display of abstracts, annotations and Skim notes in previews and formatted files for printing, and there really is interesting potential for a lot of utility here. Though it seems a small thing, I think annotating references would be aided by quick access to the "annote" pane of the publication details window. Would there be any interest in adding an "Annote" or "Annotate" contextual menu item under the "Get Info" item in the contextual menu for individual entries in the main bibliography list? That choice might open the detail window directly to the "Annote" pane.
