I had the same problem at some point. For me it was cause by "Convert
Files and URLs". I can still reproduce a similar situation.
I select the following entry (obtained through "Edit > Copy As >
BibTex Record")
@article{Fintel:1993:Exceptives,
Author = {{\SortNoop{Fintel}}von Fintel, Kai},
Date-Added = {2007-10-24 23:57:16 -0400},
Date-Modified = {2008-01-16 16:07:30 -0500},
Doi = {10.1007/BF00372560},
Journal = NaLS,
Number = {2},
Pages = {123-148},
Title = {Exceptive constructions},
Volume = {1},
Year = {1993},
Bdsk-Url-1 = {http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/BF00372560}}
After "Database > Convert Files and URLs" with "Selected publications"
my entry becomes:
@article{Fintel:1993:Exceptives,
Author = {{\SortNoop{Fintel}}von Fintel, Kai},
Date-Added = {2007-10-24 23:57:16 -0400},
