linked files are a to-many property, not a to-one-property. You cannot simply use "set" to add an item to a to-many property. You need to use the "add" command. If the "add" command is not available (I'm not sure if it is supported in the last release) you should use the "make" command with a "with data" argument. Have a look at the sample script to see how to do it.

Hi,

I'm writing an applescript that will look for pdf files in my quite disordered collection that may correspond to a particular publication in a library.
My question is:
Provided I find an appropriated pdf, can I have it linked to the selected publication from within the applescript?

I'm trying something like:

set the linked file 1 of thePub to this_file

but it fails with:

Bibdesk has detected an error: NSInternalScriptError

Thank you in advance!
