First show the window for the person you're interested in. You can
do that in two ways:
1. - Open a detail window for any publication item with that author
- In the lower-right corner is a little table with author names,
double-click the author name you want
2. - Choose Author at the popup at the top of the group table
- Double-click the icon for the group with the author name you
want, or select this group and hit Cmd-I
The author window lets you change the author name in all items. Just
hit the Edit... button.
You can filter the items for which you want to change the name by
changing the selection in the 2 little tables in the author window
(displaying the various equivalent names, and displaying the
fields). E.g. you can change only editors, or only authors (if
that's relevant), or you can change only certain forms of the name.
E.g. if you have both "Frank White" and F. White", then selecting
just "F. White" in the table displaying the various name forms will
change only occurrences of that name, while selecting all names will
change all occurrences of the equivalent names.
Apart from this you can follow Niels's instructions.

The best way to fix a name is probably to look it up in any
