Hi --
I'm trying to move several thousand citations in (EndNote
generated) RIS into Bibdesk. I'm using a recent nightly build:
1.3.17 (1188).
My questions are:
(1) What is the mapping that BibDesk currently uses in interpreting
the RIS TY field into BibTex reference type?
(2) Can (and if so, where can) this be modified in BibDesk
preferences?
Apologies if this is covered elsewhere. I have seen (what I think
are) references to a .plist for control of these mappings, but
can't find it in the application bundle. I've also seen a recent
note that the TY import mappings were reworked, but it wasn't
generalized about what the various accepted values for the TY field
are.
Specifically, TY - CHAP is coming into BibDesk as inbook@, and
while that seems technically correct, I want to produce
incollection@ entires from these CHAP TYpes. There are too many
entries to do this quickly by hand. The easiest solution might be
to do use Sed on the RIS file, to replace CHAP with a value that
produces incollection@ but I need to know what the TY tag value
which BibDesk interprets as incollection@ first, and I have been
unable to find that in the documentation...
Many thanks for any help on this!
Best,
Eric
