Or there's another way: make a symbolic link from ~/Document/Papers to  
~/Dropbox. Dropbox will keep it in sync (it won't work with a regular  
alias, though).

To make a symbolic link, open the Terminal app (which resides inside  
the Utilities folder), and type this (adapt it to the actual place  
where you store your papers):

ln -s /Documents/Papers ~/Dropbox

This should do the trick. I prefer this method to the other options  
mentioned in the thread; this way you keep all your documents in their  
expected place, and the Dropbox folder acts as a repository of what  
you want to share.
