I guess it also depends on whether you're looking for a reference in a
search engine, or just happen to run across one via RSS/e-mail/PDF.  I use
Compendex, ScienceDirect, and Web of Science for most of my directed
searching.  Web of Science I can search directly in BD, of course, but the
web group doesn't help with any of these.
 
For browsing, I typically use OmniWeb since all URLs open in that anyway.
Polishing aside, the web group UI is too different to use it as my primary
browser (I'm a creature of habit, and I've been using OW almost exclusively
since OS X Public Beta).  Since I have to download the RIS citation anyway
from most of the sites I end up at, it's easier to use my browser.  I end up
with RIS and PDF files for a given article, and those are easy to add via
drag-and-drop from the download folder.
