Why on earth would you want to do that?

This is a very common practice whose rationale is that white spaces are a distraction in diffs. By forbidding them, only those lines with meaningful differences are displayed in diffs.

Yes, that's what Adam said. And it's not a bug.

Let's say it is an unwanted feature. Frankly, removing those spaces will take you 2s, won't harm anybody who is not concerned with code versioning and it will help those who are. It would seem to me that it is a no-brainer of a patch.

Not a big deal anyway now that I have checked out the source, since I fixed the code and it does what I want now!
