Sorry, I meant to say Papers, not Pages -- and I have not played with Papers long enough to make a definitive statement; I am playing with it right now. However, EagleFiler uses them, as far as I can tell. I just opened a PDF file (that was not tagged before) in EagleFiler and assigned a tag. Then I checked the file in Get Info and there were no spotlight comments. I then assigned the file tags using Tagit and again there were no spotlight comments.
