They've known about the crash for a long time, based on the number of which my report was marked as duplicate. I see it used in more places. Any PlotIconRefInContext call is a candidate for this problem, as far as I know. It seems to occur most reliably if called for 512x512 icons, but that's a fairly uncommon case for BibDesk users, I think.
