Clicking on Edit the TeX template opens a previewtemplate.tex file.
It has a dropdown menu on top left set to pdfLaTeX, and an option for
XeLaTeX (among others)

Where is this "template" located on my hardrive? and what type of file is
it?
So I should take your template you gave me, copy it into TextEdit and save
it to that same location? or what?

I'm writing in Scrivener which is supposed to be able to produce MMD, which
I thought would interface somehow with BibTex, so that I don't have to
manually manage bibliography citations, but can use the BibTex citekeys
instead.
As an alternative, I was hoping to use TeX Preview to generate footnote in
style of my choosing (Chicago for now), that I could cut and paste into
Scrivener.
But that's only for now. Ultimately, I'd want to use BibTeX cite keys with
MMD.

If you send me you email, I'll take discussion offline.
