I guess it depends a lot on your work flow. For instance, do you typically edit your data in the master filr or in the detail files?
If you mainly edit in your master file, you could export the relevant items to the detail file when needed. You could keep static groups for those, and select them when exporting. Or you could select the items to export (but then you need to identify them). Christiaan
