I would never have changed it from Mike's original folder/pen icon, so you guys 
are lucky Christiaan is in charge now! 

IMHO it's not really worth the effort to bend to every variation of Apple's 
design fads, especially if you support older platforms, since Apple will just 
find a way to make it look even stupider next year. Apple has made backwards 
compatibility a lot harder for developers over the last 15 years, and deserves 
nothing but ill will and castigation for it.
