In one of my bags of 'bike stuff' that I just haven't tossed yet is an
old Sears headlight/tailight setup. It utilized a large headlight that
housed two bulbs, a circuit board and 2 'C' batteries. The tail light
also had two bulbs. Power was powered by a Japanese bottom bracket
generator and the batteries. When the speed is slow enough to dim the
bulbs, the battery is supposed to power the second set of bulbs. Nice
idea but the headlight tended to be too heavy for it's mounting
bracket. The generator bulbs are 6v, .45a and the tail light is 6v.
The battery bulbs are 2.5v front and 2.2v rear.

The generator has a toggle that has to be put it place prior to riding.
It does not have the seat switch. I guess I have kept this stuff
because I liked the idea of a generator light with battery backup. I do
not know how it can be assembled into a simple unit. I have spare front
bulbs as well as a Union 6v, 2.4w halogen/standard headlamps.

Is this stuff junk or could something be made of it? I know there are
fancy high dollar systems available now (internal hubs) but I cannot
afford new wheels at this time.
Just curious,
Mike
