There's no bulky charger. I carry a Gomadic unit: http://piaw.blogspot.com/2008/06/review-gomadic-charging-system.html with tips for mini-usb (for cell phone, and would also work for the Garmin Edge), and the Kindle (which has become an indispensable touring companion). There are also tips for the ipod. If you camp, you can buy a Gomadic battery extender which effectively means you can buy and use AA batteries for everything. > While I'm asking, how resistant are these units to bad weather? Very much so. I rode through rain that submerged our BBs for more than 2 hours. (Think turn our your high pressure shower, and ride in that for 2 hours) It was so bad that a paper map tore and disintegrated within 10 minutes. The Garmin kept ticking and ticking. -- Piaw Na http://piaw.blogspot.com --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Bicycle Lifestyle" group.
