As is always true with respect to saddles, comfort depends in a large
degree on how well the shape of the saddle matches yours.  I had one of
those Ideale saddles - honey, aluminum flat saddle rails with adjustment
clamp built in, forgot the model number - on my first tandem.  It was
OK, but never anything near as comfortable as a Brooks Pro or a B.17.

That's certainly true.  It's too bad they're not around anymore.  For
some customers, they were a better fit than a Brooks, and those flat
aluminum rails were unique.
