Hi all
Biharies who are outside the country will never come back to Bihar. If they
have their parents living in Bihar or if they have their ancesteral house not
shared by their siblings, may make them think and visit or may make them return
to Bihar.Biharis who are living in Bihar do send their children for education
outside the state if they can afford to do so.This generation staying outside
the state do not come back as they find opportunities outside.Nonbiharies will
not come to Bihar even if the infrastructure ,Job opportunities,Lifestyle
improves such is their mindset.I think Bihar should create special economic
zones and invite the likes of TATA ,Reliance ,Infosys to industralise Bihar.Law
and order, security, tightly petroling the borders with Nepal, are the
prerequisite for this to happen.
This is my perception,no intention to be pessimistic or upset anybody.
with regards

Hi! Bala and all Thank you Bala for your provocatively enthusing negative
facts about Patna . Except the education I agree to all the points . The
competitive environment in Bihar esp in Patna is much better in comparision to
so many tier I or II cities. The fact could be gauzed from the sucess of super
-30 in IIT /JEE or other competitions. comparitively you will find that the
opportunity for straying a students is very less The manifestation of the
advertisements of Coaching institutes on the walls of Patna in comparision to
the advt of the FMCG products in other cities testify that students here are
much eager for survival than the spoilt brat struggling for fashion and gadgets
in other cities. For rest of the points I have already given my nod. Regards,
Rajesh Jha

All There only way to ensure development in Bihar is to attract educated people
to Bihar; this includes Biharis and non Biharis But, why should you people move
to Patna for work, or set up businesses? Culture: is the culture of Patna
conducive to accept outsiders? Will outsiders feel safe and will their
language, religion be accommodated. Education. The city will need to introduce
good schools. Essentially, the mindset of education in Bihar is much lower than
those provided in many other Indian states. They teaching methods of schools in
Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, and Mumbai should be be used to devise ways of
teaching young people. The ranking culture in schools, daily humiliation of
students by teachers and "cleaver" students has made Patna a distant target for
many people seeking an education for their children. Why should someone from
Hyderabad want to live and work in Patna??, when their kids will get a proper
education as opposed to "ranking" based education in Patna. Law and Order: An
assurance that the past wont return, ever. Enjoyment: Young people like to go
out, party, clubs, bars, restaurants. Young people like a good night life.
Until the Bihar govt deals with these issues then young people will not move
and we will all keep on dreaming. thanks, Bala

Hello All,It was nice to read all the emails. Very interesting and informative,
but one point I felt is common in everyones thought. There are problems in
Bihar and everyone has accepted this and given several explanation as what and
who could take steps to make life better in Bihar. Its very easy to talk about
and blame others fault. Before blaming someone we should take a step backward
and see what each of us has done for Bihar. I am assuming everyone in this
mailing list is somehow related to Bihar and are educated. Forget about the
ministers and other businessmen , ask yourself as what have you done to help
Bihar? I also came across the word MINDSET. The same solution. Ask yourself
"What have you done for Bihar?"The problem lies in each individual and not in
Ministers and gangsters. Corruption starts from the highest authorities and
runs through the lowest authorities. And every individual in these posts are
not always big ministers, but people like us. Dont blame others for giving and
taking bribes. The power of improvement lies withing ourself. We can make the
changes. Dont expect the change to happen drastically and dont wait for any big
ministers to take the initiative. Believe in urself and take the initiative.
Join the NGO and adopt a child for his/her education. Its very simple thing to
do but very effective. There are several ideas like that , which will help
improve Bihar conditions and needs less time of yours. So do not just talk and
blame others, get involved in improvement activities. And stop asking the
questions "How to develop Bihar" Ask the question "How can I help
Bihar?"ThanksSunil Pal--- On Sat, 12/27/08, nawal manoj <[email protected]>
