We may do the following to control wedding cost and transfer of dowry Conduct the marriage ceremony in a simple way with minimum of expenditures on uncalled for pomp and show.
Limit the expenses for a dinner for close relatives and family and friends. The Bridegroom side must bear all the expenses for what it wants to enjoy. All essential expenses for setting up a Home for a young couple must be born by both Bridegroom and Bride parties on equal basis. In my view not much of guidelines are required. Just try to weed everything out which is not essential to life.
