Did you know that; American imports two-thirds of its oil from foreign sources. Even before September 11th, the cost to taxpayers of protecting foreign oil sources was over $50 billion a year. If the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge was opened for drilling, it would only produce 2% of the oil Americans consume each year. Washington DC Metrorail and the development it fostered is projected to generate 90,000 jobs and a net gain of $1.2 billion in tax revenue from 1978 to 2010. (D.C.
