I'll mention it to my editor at The Capitol Times.

It would be, but I don't read teh dailies. I get my news off of BBC/NPR
if I have a radio, or teh web. <sigh> Though if they did talk about it, I
could start reading the paper at work. ;-)

I think just a letter to them to start with, and also a talk to City
Transpo to see if they could keep them updated.

It would be helpful if the Wisconsin State Journal had updates on the
various bike routes in Madison similar to the traffic updates. I'll see if
I can find out how to send a suggestion like that, any ideas?, letter to
them?

Arthur,

Thanks for the information, but your answer leads to more questions. ;-)
No part of the path from Hammersley on up is paved yet, it's just crushed
gravel and dirt. But, like I pointed out, we have no real choice but to
use that first section since the connection to the Odana Hills golf course
is now blocked. So, what happens when they asphalt? Will we have to stay
off the path for a day? Will they put some plywood/metal sheets down to go

over the berm they created, blocking us from the golf course, so we can use

that for that time? Or is that section just planned to stay unpaved? If
so, it really needs to be recompacted, because there are tire tracks all
over it, and it is still fairly loose.

Thanks,
Rich Frueh
