Rich, bikies,
The berm you refer to is not to block access to the Odana Golf
Course maintenance road. The dirt is the top soil that is to go next to
the path. The construction crews put the top soil down before the asphalt
to prevent the need to drive heavy trucks on the newly laid asphalt. After
the asphalt is put down, the top soil will be raked next to the path and
smoothed out by hand. Furthermore, I had no problem getting over the
little hill of dirt on my road bike. If necessary, walk over the pile.
I must also remind people, as Arthur previously noted, that NO part
of the path is open yet. This includes the section from the Beltline to
Midvale. So please be patient and don't expect that you should be able to
bike on it like a regular path yet.
Lastly, the connector between the path and the Odana Golf Course
maintenance road is suppose to happen in Phase 3 of construction but that
has not been approved yet. We need to keep the pressure up to make this
happen.
