OK.... I am only posting this to Bikes instead of the long list that george included. If anyone wants to pass it on to an alder, police, other city official, etc.... go tight ahead.
Since we are talking about glass.... My pet peeve is the guaranteed glass obstacle course on W Dayton St. There is always glass in the bike lanes on garbage day (Thursday) - especially the 400-500 blocks. Not sure if the garbage collectors aren't being careful or the tenents along there are slobs. There is also sure if be stinking garbage such as food, paper, unidentified metal, food containers, etc. Very unpleasant. This problem seems to be worst in the fall - maybe the students have lots of money to party and/or haven't learned to be responsible adults yet. The other time that glass is sure to be present is after football games (basketball and hockey too if they weather us warm). In this case the problem is worst near Camp Randall. I called the Streets Dept and suggested they sweep after every home game. The problem is that W Dayton is half "east side streets" and half "west side streets", so I always get told to call the other number. I think the University is a wonderful thing, and I like having the students around.... I just wish more were considerate and community-minded when it comes to disposal of trash. -- Robbie _______________________________________________ Bikies mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.danenet.org/mailman/listinfo/bikies
