THANK YOU ALL!!! To everyone who helped me with money, time, moral support, and even just good energy from afar, I extend my heart felt thanks.
And bikies also made the difference in the mayoral race. Anyone who wasn't at the Dave C party at Luther's last night (which I crashed for my victory bash as well) may not realize how much influence you all had on this election. When we looked around the room, there were bike folks, alternative transportation advocates, sprawl busters, and enviro faces everywhere. Parked outside Luther's were commuter-outfitted 2-wheelers - many with Dave C signs or stickers. Even the Cap Times noticed that: "To understand why Dave Cieslewicz was elected mayor Tuesday, look no further than the man's victory party. In front of the downtown nightclub, dozens of bicycles - many festooned with "Dave for Mayor" signs - were chained to railings. Inside, the people who road those bikes through the streets of the city on the last day of an uphill campaign still had more than enough energy to sing and dance and celebrate deep into the night. "And it felt good." http://www.madison.com/captimes/opinion/editorial/45802.php Looking forwrad to being known as "that bike geek on the City Council", -- Robbie "Never doubt that a small group of dedicated individuals working together can change the world.
