Look Out for Upcoming News Series: "The Shape We're In"
A five-part newspaper series [in Knight-Ridder papers: St Paul Pioneer-Press & Duluth Tribune JK], on physical activity and obesity will run in papers across the country starting June 2. "The Shape We're In", a series sponsored by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, focuses on America's obesity epidemic and the transportation system as a contributing factor.
Each day of the series explores different aspects of the problem - nutrition and physical education in schools, the influence of community design, how the medical community is responding - and highlights innovative solutions.
To ensure that information about this series is widely spread, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has also launched www.shapenews.com. A one-stop shop full of useful resources and tools designed to raise attention and
stimulate action around physical activity and obesity, including media outreach strategies, ideas for community events, and links to other organizations working on these issues.
