It is only on the tracks side of the trail and not the prairie garden side. None the less, this was not a patch of thistles and ragweed, but a nice assortment of wildflowers.
Given WI Southern Railroad's past disregard for the community in which their tracks pass through, I suppose it would be difficult get them to change their mowing policy, but it seems like the city has every right to post a no mowing zone on the adjoining city property.
