Since moving to Wisconsin, I've been amazed at how pervasive (some would also say
perverse) the attention to the Green Bay NFL team is,
even out here in Madison, which is, after all, about 125-150 miles away.

I checked TV news on Friday to see whether they would also misreport the recent
break-in/shootings in the East Side Eken Park neighbourhood. (Both the _Wisconsin
State Journal_ and the _Capital Times_ characterised them as *Northside*
killings--attempting to sensationalise it following so soon after the murder in
Berkley Oaks??) even though the reported address is clearly east of the far eastern
boundary of the Northside. In Saturday's paper, the WSJ finally correctly described
it as East Side, but the CT continued to report it as Northside. NEITHER paper (to my
knowledge) has yet printed a retraction and apology for referring to it as being on
the Northside.) I didn't see anything about that on the stations I checked at the
times I looked, but I did get repeated weather forecasts on all three stations for
Phoenix for that all-important NFL game. Gee, did it ever occur to them that it was
perfectly normal weather in a southwestern desert? It might sound hot to us here,
but after all, average daily highs for June-September are typically over 100F. Was
this supposed to be news? Okay, it was TV news, and not something usually known for
intelligent life....

But I didn't think bikies would sink to the same Packered level.

Well, maybe someone could make it bikie-relevant anyway. Does Lambeau stadium have
bike racks for people there for a game, and are they of a useful style... or just a
couple of wheel benders jammed in against a wall someplace?

grin :-)

Now go back to lunch

Now go have a beer,
