...or as I tend to think of it (can't see the photo), in front of Capitol Ice, where I
went (yes, in a CAR (gasp!) if I'm lugging hockey equipment) once or twice a week this
summer because of a lack of proper facilities in the City of Madison, where they've
let their two rinks deteriorate, and also on and off (at least prior to the current
administration) have seemed ready to sacrifice to the highest bidder. (It would be a
shame if Cieslewicz, who is promoting a "Fit City Madison," didn't include upgrading
the rinks and expanding access to the general public (i.e., not just people in
leagues), yes, for people who play hockey but also for recreational skating, something
that truly is a lifelong fitness activity.)

Hey, if they got the physical plant at Hartmeyer into shape and offered more open
hockey in the schedule, I could take the BUS there (well, the bus service to the
Northside would also have to improve to remove the lengthy waits at the transfer point
and provide service later at night, but that's another rant for another time :-) ) and
wouldn't be limited to driving to McFarland or Middleton to find ice.

(back to Pleasant View Road)
...Anyway, it does look like a good job of including bicycle lanes, or at least from
the vantage point of the driver's seat of a car. I don't have any reason to be out
that way other than if I skate in Middleton, so have not been there on a bicycle. Can
anyone comment first hand?

(BTW, the attached photo and the extremely heavy formatting are no a good idea,
especially when sending to a mailing list. The photo just shows up as many screens of
code, as do all of your fonts and colours. When it shows up on the mail-archive site,
take a look at how it appears to many people, not to mention how honkin' BIG the whole
thing is.)

Now go have a beer,
