Waunakee-Westport Bicycle Ride Planned
The Waunakee-Westport
Bicycle/Pedestrian planning process is underway! Once complete, the plan
will provide guidance for a comprehensive bikeway system in the area, and
specific implementation directions for a few key routes. Please join us as we
complete an initial tour of the area by bike on Saturday, October 11th, 2003. We will meet at the old Town of Westport Hall at 10:00 a.m. The Hall is located on Mary Lake Road just north of Highway M
in Westport. What about the Badger game, you say? Don't worry-it's not until 8:00 p.m.
The casual, two or so hour ride will
explore routes throughout the Westport area, take us north into Waunakee, and investigate bike
connections to Middleton and elsewhere. We are very interested in learning the
"good, bad, and ugly" from folks who cycle in the area on a regular
basis. We will hold a post-ride discussion for those who would like to
stick around-refreshments will be provided.
Waunakee and Westport residents are
