Echoing Mark's positive experience. I've had people stop and *insist* I cross, even when I'm actually working my dog to sit and wait before crossing. In terms of compliance, Glenway/SW Path functions like a four way stop sign. Odana as if the drivers actual had seen "yield to ped..." signs, and Midvale, so so. Certainly much better than I feared.

On the other hand, Sunday afternoon: MPD and EMTs pulled up at the intersection of Hilldale entrance and Midvale. There was a big car that loooked like it had been heading north and turning West into Hilldale, and an empty power wheelchair.

No news yet on MPD site or papers.

(My partner turned early so I couldn't see the details--trying to spare me nightmares.)

My wife and I actually have had a lot of cars stop to let us cross
at Odana and especially at Glenway when biking on the SW path. In my
experience, compliance with yielding to pedestrians/bikes at Odana,
Glenway, and Midvale has improved greatly since the SW Path was completed.
That doesn't mean there is not room for improvement. I think the reason
for the improvement is just the shear number of people on the SW Path -
sort of a critical mass walk/bike everyday - and the fact that a lot of
people driving through those intersections also bike through them on the SW
Path. Now if we could just duplicate the compliance improvement on East
Washington Avenue and University Avenue.
