It exposes the lie that 'roads pay for themselves (through gas taxes'. You anti-car 
zealots already knew that, but its about time that the WSJ admits it.

But of course, common sense only goes so far with the Journal. They go on to say 

    "And simply doing fewer road projects is not much of an option. Keeping 
Wisconsin's highways open and up-to-date is important to economic growth as so many 
businesses depend on efficient links between population centers."

In other words, even though highways are an economic drain on taxpayers, highways are 
good for the economy. 

They ARE correct that 'businesses depend on efficient [transportation] links', but 
endless expansion highways for single occupant vehicles is efficient.
