I just have to think that a driver making a turn near a line of people at a 
polling place should have been on the look out for more people in the 
general area - even those wearing dark clothes in the pre-dawn.

Do we have to adorn ourselves with flashing lights and neon just to safely 
cross the street?

at the time, the parents were getting in line to vote, the little girl was
with them, but not holding their hands, and the truck turned right into
her.  She was wearing all dark colors, and it was dark.  The EMTs were less
than a block away, but couldn't help.
