Not so.  There would be lots of intersections where 4-way stop signs
would not be necessary, because of the flat terrain.  If the car driver
could see a bicyclist blowing through a stop sign there would be no need
for the streets traffic to have stop signs.

Not so again.  Bicyclists blowing through the new four-way stops would
not be nullifying the fact that the car drivers have to stop.  It would
still preserve the safety of the bicyclist, even though the bicyclist
would be in violating the rule to stop at the stop sign.  I am in favor
of that.  I don't think we should be penalizing the bicyclist by allowing
him to be killed just because he or she chooses to blow through stop
signs.
