I've not seen the Isthmus graffiti in question, but I doubt it's art.

It is a slippery slope to condone vandalism. Non-permanent messages (chalk,
posted paper signs, etc.) are not destructive and more effective communicators.
Spray-painted ugliness is just that.

Center stripes vs. graffiti removal are two different things: the effective
means to discourage graffiti is to remove it immediately so as to remove a
reward for the graffiti perpetrator.

Center stripes are (should be) a regularly scheduled maintenance task.

Subject: Re: [Bikies] Graffiti on Isthmus Path

I'm reminded of the time, a coupla years ago, when there was much hue and cry
about the graffiti on the Southwest Path, near Allied Drive, and the effort
made to remove it, when all the while the path, and many others, had woefully
fading center stripes.

(I'm waiting for someone with a red spray can to correct the grammar on the
latest work in question, complete with proofreading marks.)
