[Bikies] Public Comment on Badger State Trail plan

If you care about keeping the Badger State Trail preserved for bicyclists and walkers and keeping ATVs off the trail...be sure to get involved in the public process (see below).  Silent sport folks have been too quiet for too long while the motorized sector attends every public meeting and takes every opportunity to make their desires known.  It's up to us to stay vigilant and involved.  We simply can not let our guard down.

Comments are now being accepted for the Draft Badger State Trail Master Plan which is available online at http://dnr.wi.gov/master_planning/badgertrail/ .

The Badger State Trail extends from the City of Madison limits south to the Illinois State Line and intersects with the Capitol City State Trail in the city of Fitchburg and also the Sugar River State Trail near Monticello.

 The development of a Department master plan is guided by WI Administrative Rule NR44, which governs a plan’s development and adoption, public participation, and land management as well as recreational use classifications.

The Department will be accepting public comment for this plan until November 18th, 2005.  You may send your comments to the address listed below or you can attend one of the two open houses scheduled in November.
