This poll is bad news. See my gripe to channel3000 below for the why. Am I: reading too much into this, out in left field, just too sensitive, have too much time on my hands, all of the above or none of the above?

The survey below regarding biking at night sends an anti-bike message, and I think it should be rewritten or removed immediately.

Choices one and two are important safety features, but three is both unnecessary and impractical. Including "Staying on bike paths" in "All of the above" implies that bikers "should" do all three, which means I "shouldn't" be riding along the road in the dark. Furthermore, including the choice "You shouldn't Bike in the Dark" legitimizes this ridiculous opinion among those drivers who have it. As a regular bike commuter, I don't need channel3000 reinforcing drivers' perception that I shouldn't be on the road.

As a news source your role is to inform the public. Instead of this poorly conceived survey, how about a simple blurb in the article, reminding the public that bicycle safety advocates recommend lights, reflectors, and reflective clothing when biking at night.

5. You Shouldn't Bike In The Dark
6. None Of The Above
