The Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin doesn't have an official position
(to my knowledge) on streetcars, either.
But I personally wish people would stop thinking about commuter rail
and streetcars as an either/or decision.
We aren't forced to choose between, say, arterial roads, collector
roads, and local roads. We get all of them (whether everyone wants
all of them or not). Likewise, we should be talking about building
frequent and convenient mass transit for lintracity, AND intercity
destinations, which is precisely the difference between the two
systems being discussed.
