The following is forwarded from the Friends of Lake Wingra list. If you have
questions, ask Steve (not me):

Hi friends,
The SW Bike Path project will have it's first work parties of the season
this Saturday and Sunday. We will be planting the new garden and pulling garlic
mustard, etc.

GLENWAY & PATH COMMUNITY RESTORATION PROJECT:
                        CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

WE NEED HELP PLANTING THE BORDER (PINK FLAGS) at the recently redone
site. Flats of native border plants will be arriving the rest of this
month to fill a 75 feet x 2 feet area, and we?ll need help planting and
watering them.

When? Saturday and Sunday, 9:00-11:00am (with chance for later hours
as needed), May 12 & 13, May 19 & 20, and Saturday May 26.

How? We'll have the flats at the site, and planting guides for
individuals and groups. Bring trowels if you have them; we?ll have
a few, as well as water buckets and garden carts.

We'd love to have an "adopt a small section" response by individuals and
by families: plant, water, weed/maintain and enjoy the results.

What if you can?t come those days/times? We are thinking about where to
have the plants and the planting guide available on a drop-by basis as
well. Just ask us (see name/contact at bottom).

IF YOU WALK OR BIKE BY THIS SITE, LOOK AT THE DESIGN
MAP FOR THE PROJECT, AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS OPPORTUNITY TO CREATE
SOMETHING YOU WILL ENJOY WATCHING GROW OVER THE SEASONS!

Your neighborhood bike path restoration project committee, Sandy
(255-4195), Robin, and Steve
