Would it help if we started countering the word
"enhancements" (sounds like push-up bras or make-up, things to
accentuate the, uh, beauty of the highway, and not really necessary)
with something like "congestion reduction" to remind automobilists
that if we weren't on bikes or sidewalks we'd be taking up space in
their crowded lanes?
Or, I don't know. Maybe we go into this asking/demanding/assuming
that these are, of course, going to be "complete streets" and
"complete intersections" when they're done? (I'm on my way out of
town and not sure if I'll make the meeting.)
This isn't a bicycle, it's a skinny, quiet, peanut-butter-powered car.
