Dear Group,

For a decade I have worn my "Bell Quest" (looks like a chamber pot). In
fact I heard a testimonial by a guy who was simply queuing up for a
group ride in a parking lot, lost control and landed on his head with a
full body cast. He claimed it would have been worse without his helmet!

But then----with the mishaps we have all experienced--how many of us
have a dent in our foam helmets after a decade? I do not. But then
weigh that with the near misses by car drivers who seem to figure you
are on a railroad track or something and they don't have to worry how
close they come in passing? I.E. -------it is really a valid decision
we must make as to the psychological effect as expressed first by the
Brit and better explained in the SC-AM article.

Eric
