David,

I cannot agree strongly enough with Matt's words. Any attempt to "sanitize"
information available on the BFW site to avoid any reference to the role of
land use in the creation of bike (and walk) friendly communties does a
disservice to the organization's stated goal of "making Wisconsin a better
place to bicycle". It is dishonest not to acknowledge the link between land
use and transportation choices. The vast majority of automobile trips are
quite short, but many of these trips are made necessary due to poor land use
choices and the resulting disconnected road networks and separated land
uses. To me, BFWs acknowledgment of this struggle helps the organization's
credibility.
