Some on this list have openly asked, "What does it take to get a conviction
when a driver kills a bicyclist?" For those of us in Madison, this was an
especially difficult question to ponder after the driver who killed Jess
Bullen was found not guilty.

Here's one answer: The driver has a blood alcohol content of 3X the legal
limit at 2:30 PM - yes, in the afternoon, and she hits three bicyclists at
the same time. That were riding on the sidewalk! Also note that this was a
plea deal instead a trial, so we still don't know if she would have been
convicted.

Note that she was indeed charged with "homicide and injury by intoxicated
use of a vehicle."
