In addition to the first, and therefore most prominent "Wish for 2008" in last week's Isthmus, our friend Mike Barrett got a very good letter printed in today's Cap Times:
http://www.madison.com/tct/opinion/letters/266064 And let me remind others in this list that these letters to the editor, and other mechanisms for speaking out - contacting your alder, county supervisor, the Mayor, Co Exec, other elected officials; coming to speak at public hearings; blogging; volunteering to be interviewed on the radio, and many other ways to "get the message out" - really do make a difference. Those who would build an environment unfriendly to biking certainly have no compunction about making their message heard. We need to step up, or pedal up, and speak out as well. On that note, I'll have an action alert coming out soon, but for the moment, please save the date of Jan 24 to speak or register on the new Capital Area Regional Plan Commission draft goals and objectives, and the policies and criteria for new development. If you'd like to read the documents before I get the action alert completed, go to the pages below: http://danedocs.countyofdane.com/webdocs/PDF/capd/LUTP_goals_and_objectives_redline_12.14.07.pdf http://danedocs.countyofdane.com/webdocs/PDF/capd/USA_Policies_redline_12.14.07.pdf Thanks! Robbie -- Please note that my personal email has changed. Please delete robbiew at tds.net from your address book. My alder account remains active, and city business should be sent there.
