Might I suggest contacting the following people directly about this matter?

1. Jim Woodward - President and CEO of Meriter. He is the "new guy" from out
of town to whom George refers in his email. and I have had some discussions
with him about the link between health and community design/transportation
options. Perhaps the argument that having their offices in a location that
would allow employees to access work in a physically active manner - walking
and bicycling, even walking from the bus or to/from lunch - would give them
a few things to think about.

2. Julia Kerr - the alder for the current Meriter location. I'm certain she
wouldn't want these jobs moving out of her district. I have had many
discussions with her about the importance of transportation options. There
have also been discussions with both Meriter and St Marys' about working
with the surrounding neighborhood to redevelop former rental units/houses
into "workforce housing," so that employees can live close to their jobs.

3. Mayor Dave. Ditto points from 1 & 2.

Just a few thoughts on talking points that might strike a cord with the
"movers and shakers."
