Dear Group,

As we see inflation mounting and the important price of diesel fuel over
$4.00/gallon, why hasn't there been a move to lower the speed limits on
the limited access roads back to 55mph? Isn't it just a fact that
slower speeds of any vehicle gives more miles per gallon? And if the
determinant is wind resistance, slower speeds should be most important
for trucks? Remember when "truck speeds" were forty-five? Now that
would save both in emissions as well fuel money. Now that is where we
should focus advocacy.
