This post is not about bikes, strictly speaking; but I hope people who
bike through Brittingham Park will take their eyes off the path long
enough to admire the large collection of loons hanging out near the
western end of Monona Bay.

When I went down the path this morning, I counted approximately 15 loons
in the water. I usually expect to see a few of these beautiful birds in
Madison every spring and fall, but 15, all in one place, is pretty
remarkable.

And they're in a location where bikers can see them, but people in cars
will see tiny dots, at best. A reward for our virtue, I suppose.
